Today 27/5/2012
So today has been on of the GREATEST days of my life. i woke up feeling alittle tired and stuff from staying at Jakes as i have to sleep on the floor but i was awoken by Jakes mum with tea and toast best breakfast ever for Live and Unsigned. So i get changed and brush my teeth and ting to be all ready for Live and unsigned i get my glasses on and me, Jake, Lee and Papa Roads get in the car. Brian starts up the car and Jake made a mix disc of all our favourite tunes and the first song comes on and we listen to that all of us were bobbing our heads to the tunes and it was just epic.
So then we pick up Joe from a Costa coffee stop in swindon and as always we are wearing the same vest but we didnt care. so we are all chilling with the tunes and we are laughing and talking, Lee is watching Adventure time on his laptop as no surprise :L. Then at a point a song by Emmure comes on and jake films me and lee singing the words and it just made us all laugh because of how stupid me and lee looked.
So we finally get to SUB89 and we get there at about 9:20 and its such a lovely day and we could feel the nerves being building as Joe kept farting and smelt like a motherfucker. so we are all chilling in the sun outside the SUB89 venue and a bus pulls up outside the venue. we thought it was another acts bus which it was and we were like ‘I wonder if they brought as many people’ they hadnt but there were a lot of people all the same. Before they all got off the bus i walked to brians car to get my sticks and i noticed that at the back of the bus a lot of people were looking at me i was thinking why are they looking at me. so as i walk back to the venue i look at the bus again and i realise that it was another all girl band starring at me one of the girls made a heart with her hands and pointed at me i was like ummm no and just carried on walking :L.
So they let us in and we walk to our spot that we had last time and we had these amazing chairs that had like tiger and lepard print on them they were amazingly compfy we are all laughing, chilling farting going through our parts all sorts and then they call our name for sound check.
So we get up and go do sound check it was good the sound in SUB89 is amazing but the only problem i had was that i couldnt hear the guitars but oh well. After we sound checked they told us when we were on and it was til 17 and there were 19 bands so we had to wait ages. we were all like jumping and stuff because we were so excited to play. then after a while we just sat down and chilled again. we were not nervous to begin with the only one who was nervous was jake so we all went outside so him and Joe could have a fag and then our bus turns up and everyone gets off the bus in there Roads To Nowhere T-shirts and we are all like OMG!
So then we say hello to everyone and we have to go back in and wait for our names to be called out for us to play our song. they call our name and we head up stairs to play the show we get upstairs and there is 2 acts on before us and we are breathing heavily but we all knew we were ready.
when both the acts had finished we got on stage and the people who came to see us already started cheering as we got on stage and we were setting up :L. so then we start playing me and joe messed up on the intro but i dont think anyone noticed but apart from that everything went really well during our song. we finished and the screams were massive so then we went down stairs and we were all in bad moods as a guy who worked for Live and Unsigned said that only 2 acts go through a solo artist and a band so we were like FUUUUUUUUUU and joe was in such a bad mood he had a go at this kid who was playing a basketball in side it was pretty funny.
So then they call all the acts upstairs and we had to wait upstairs in this horrible corridor and it was boiling i was getting nervous from all the heat and jake felt like he was going to be sick. so then this woman comes upstairs and tells us 4 acts are going through so we are like oh okay we must have a better chance now.
So they open the dorrs and we wait near the stage and they tell us the first around is for the best orignal song and it was a 24 carrot gold live and unsigned disc in a frame. the annoucer did that thing where they go ‘the act who won this award goes to………………….’ and he said Roads To Nowhere and we all screamed yes it didnt mean we got in but atleast we won something and then we went back off stage and they started calling the acts who went through. the bands that went through we very good we caught one of the bands set.
So they had 3 bands already up there and they had to pick a fourth so they called our name and 2 others we are up there breathing really heavily and sweating and then the announcer did it again and he called our names out and we all screamed YES and me and lee started crying and we all gave each other a big hug, all of the fans ran towards the stage and they had to go sit back down as we had to stay on stage so we went downstairs got our photo taken and then we went back up with a form.
We meet our family and everyone is crying even our manager brian cried it felt so amazing to hear everyone say how proud they were of us. i think at the end of it we were all in tears people wanted us to sign them and we signed a drumstick for my second cousin and she loved it and then we had a massive photo before we got on the bus.
Today has been incredible and it wouldnt of been like this if it wasnt for the band. it means everything to me and we have all been working so hard to keep it amazing i love all members and i really do hope we can get somewhere at the 02 in MOTHA FUCKIN LONDON!
